Greymouth High School UNDEFEATED 2020 Champions!

The 2020 edition of the Flora Beynon Netball Tournament saw all seven West Coast Secondary School’s in attendance under cover at the DWC Westland Sports Hub. This great new facility meant we had three courts full of action throughout the two day event.

Without the South Island Secondary School Winter Tournament being held in 2020 our girls were wanting to stamp their claim on this trophy that means a lot to GHS. Flora was one of our lovely office ladies, loved her netball and umpired at New Zealand level. The last time we held this trophy was in 2011 so it was a long time overdue to return home!

GHS went through the tournament in excellent form, any combination we had on court caused issues all over the show for all our opposition. These girls had worked hard to get to this point that started in 2019 putting in the effort of training and commitment to the team, which then followed through to the 2020 squad. We cannot be more proud of every member of this team for representing GHS with such pride and bringing home this important trophy that has been challenged for since 1994. This is Grey High’s 14th year in holding this trophy and we look forward to 2021 when we get to host the tournament in Greymouth.

Many thank you’s to:
