Visual & Performing Arts
The Arts are an integral part of Greymouth High School. Visits to, or by, art exhibitions, writers’ workshops, and theatre performances in the school ensure our students get wide exposure to the Arts. On stage or backstage, there is an art and cultural opportunity for everyone.
In Music, there are many opportunities to create your own band, develop your solo skills, participate in visiting workshops, or compete in nationally based performance and songwriting competitions. In Drama, there is a wide range of activities from the drama club (Dramatic Society) to the Sheilah Winn Shakespeare Festival. The artistic creations by our students adorn our walls and magazines and demonstrate the strength of the Visual Arts in our school.
Greymouth High School presents either a drama production or a musical production each year. Braindead, Music Hall, and O Temperance are just some of the productions staged over the past few years.
